That is the correct product but you can get 1 pound for $11 on ebay. That is where I get mine because there is not any good prime deals on Amazon.

I buy my metabisulfate from Amazon on average it is the cheapest and quickest. Also it is a very respected brand.

I just stumbled into this thread. Thanks to @AliOop . @Todd Ziegler, You mentioned there is 2 kind of sodium thiosulfate, crystal and powder. If I cant get crystal one, can I use powder?

I’m afraid @Todd Ziegler will have to answer that for sure. I seem to recall that he said the powder will work but is much harder to dissolve. Is that correct, Todd?

You can use the powder but I don't know how much to use because I did my test with the crystal

@todd, I have a doubt. I was making color stabilizer for both M&P and CP. I got Sodium Thiosulphate crystals and Sodium Metabisulphate powder. M&P one is finished. But, for the CP one, metabisulphate didnt disolve weel, there are tiny clumps of powder on the bottom. Can I heat the solution slightly to get it completely dissolved or just leave it as it is, so, it will dissolve itself after few days?

Yes you can heat it and it will help it dissolve. Sometimes there will be a little at the bottom even when you heat it up. Just crush them and they will dissolve the rest of the way. Let me know if that helps.

Thats what I did. I am new to use the stabilizer, so, I dont know whether its the correct method.

I add my FO and ZCS or VCS to my oils and then SB before I add the lye/water.

That was after just a few days but the soap still hasn't discolored after a few months.
