Hey beautiful people.we are excited to say that we made another batch of our Turmeric soap!! We used y’all’s recommendations and it came out beautifully. We have came across new flaws with this new batch. We are reading the different links that ya’ll have provided and we are fixing these problems. It came out creamier than we wanted. It moistures and lathers really well. But are the dark spots suppose to be there in the middle? Are these dark spots something we should be worried about?

Recipe:
Shea Butter: 4 oz
Coconut Oil: 6 oz

Water: 8.5 oz
Lye: 4 oz
Olive Oil: 17 oz
Ginger: 1 tbs
Turmeric: 1 tbs
Honey: 1 Tbs

By dark spots, are you referring to what looks like a swirl to me, or to a partial gel situation?

Partial gel in an unswirled soap is easily identifiable in this picture:

In a swirled soap, it may be harder to see, but not impossible:

If you are referring to what looks like swirls of color and you did not intend the swirls, but wanted a solid color soap, then it would be related to inadequate mixing of your colorants into the soap batter.
