Same as Fat Tuesday, but more UK than US.

It was a big party when I was a kid - my mom always made a huge fuss about the whole thing! The way we did it was nothing religious, just a silly fun way to celebrate.

We did all kinds of holidays in big (usually cheap) ways. Everything from Diwali to Flag Day. Our family could find any reason to throw a party and drag out the good China.

If you are asking me - nope nada. I'm a Florida born mix of English & German. As white bread as they come.

LOL that reminds me of ME. LOL
I am almost exactly half Irish and half German. (I think there is a little bit of English on the Irish side as well)
I never celebrated Fat Tuesday until I was an adult, and didnt' know it was because of the whole giving stuff up for Lent tradition that it came about until about 4 years ago.
