Yay!! It's Spring!! Time to get ready for Mosquito invasions. ;-) Here's an easy & pleasant repellent recipe you can make at home:

Combine in a 16 oz bottle:
15 drops lavender oil
3-4 Tbsp of vanilla extract
1/4 Cup lemon juice.
Fill bottle with water.
Shake.
 
Tincture of Yarrow makes a great insect repellant:

I have white, red and pink yarrow patches I'm encouraging to spread all through my yard, and love the stuff.

I tincture it too, though I usually get so dirty in the yard I don't like the tincture sticking to my skin and attracting yet more dirt. Usually I just cut a few stalks and rub them on my skin. It does work great for keeping the peskies at bay.

I also infuse it in witch hazel and refrigerate for a really wonderfully refreshing toner.
