I just started making CP and I am trying to find wood mold that will give me well defined bars.

Do you have to bevel soap to get the smooth bars?

The mold I'm using now is a grid mold where I get decent bars for the bars on the interior but the outer bars are always uneven or imprinted with the wrinkles from the plastic.

Any suggestions???

You can smooth the rough sides with the edge of a small sharp knife. I use a rubbing or scraping motion and it smooths them right out usually. I wait until about a week after unmoulding so the soap isn't too soft.

Otherwise I have heard good things about TOG moulds. They are handcrafted individually and the new liner Paul is using gives a very smooth and easy release finish.
