Look at all those spots!

Our goats read the "goat bible" and presented us with 5 little boys the night of the 28th of February. That was when we had the most snow on the ground and coming from the sky. The news is not rosy as we lost a mama to milk fever, and have lost 2 of the babies.
No pictures as we're in a horrible mess right now.

Still have 20 goats to give birth over the next month. Guess our season has begun.

Oh man, I'm so sorry to hear that you've had such a rough start. What breed was this doe that she gifted you with five? That is incredible.

@MellonFriend I should have been more explicit. We had two goats give birth to 5 babies. Lost the one who had twin boys who are now in the care of our milker. The other doe had triplet boys. One died shortly after birth, one died last night and one is staying warm in our bathroom. We will continue handmilking her for milk from the survivor and orphans.

Oh I understand. Well I hope you have much better luck for the rest of your season! šŸ¤—

My last doe for the year kidded last night. She snuck it in on me and did it completely unassisted without me being there! Babies were dry and all traces of the birth were cleaned up by the time I got there. I've named them Duncan and Tessa. Tessa's the one with the dark facial markings.

One of the doeling's wattles is up near her ear like an earring! šŸ„°

I donā€™t know what I like more, those ears or the waddles! Maybe just the whole goatā€¦. Or maybe the friend in the back who seems to be unimpressed with the whole business šŸ„°šŸŒøšŸ„°
Yes, the goat in the background, Ann-Margaret, is often jealous of the new babies getting more attention than her, so she is definitely unimpressed. ā˜ŗļø

About two weeks ago my spring kidding season wrapped. We ended up with five bucklings and two doelings this year. We had both our largest and smallest kid born here in the same litter and we also had our first single born this year.

Here's the single kid, named Asher.

This is Peter, a more rare for us, nearly all white kid.

These are the biggest and smallest kids together. They bigger one (Cecil) was 8lbs the smaller (Beverly) is 4.3lbs.

Here's a video that mostly showcases this last litter, but you can see all the other babies in it too. I hope this brought you a little brightness to your day in seeing them! ā¤ļø

Your babies are sooo adorable! I love the way they jump around, watching the male shooing them away with his head made me laugh!
I live smack in the middle of the city, but trust me, I would have a goat in a nano-second if I could have a privacy fence! I used to get my goat milk from a goat farmer who had a lot of goats and there was the cutest goat ever that I wanted so bad! He looked a lot like your black and white but he also had brown, and was a small little guy named Houdini, and for a very good reason...as you most likely know, he was a great escape artist. I don't know how he did it, but that little stinker would hear my voice and like magic he would be beside me in no time at all, just waiting for a treat, pets, and a hug! The lady would just laugh, and tell me he never did it for anyone but me and we couldn't figure out why but he sure liked me! (Maybe I smelled like his mom!)
