Hi everyone, I'm new to the world of bath bomb making and just attempted my first time at making a batch but it unfortunately failed.

I used:
2 Cups Baking Soda
1 Cup Citric Acid
1 Cup Corn Startch
1 Cup Of Epsom Salt
2 Teaspoons Of Coconut Oil
6 Teaspoons Of Melted Raw Coco Butter

I left them in the molds for 24hrs refrigeratored, they fell apart after I attempted to open one.
I let them sit longer and they hardened so much I couldn't even get them out of the molds without water.

What do I need to change or try different next time?

Thanks!

Putting them in the fridge will cause them to absorb moisture. And odors. You should be able to either unmold immediately or within an hour or so. They take a lot of making and testing to get them just right. Also seems like a lot of cornstarch. I don’t use it in mine so can’t help there. I don’t use salt either. Sorry.

If you scroll down in this section you will find lots and lots of others making bath bombs, just read the different threads and as Shunt said it takes a lot of testing to see what works for you.
