    SLS free

Hi guys! As a part of my market research I came across a soap bar that had "SLS free" written on the label in very large letters and on the ingredients (which was written in very small font) it listed "sodium laureth sulfate". I know that the laureth has a bigger molecule than the lauryl and...

Hi guys! A while ago I gave some whipped shea to a friend and she says she used it for a couple of months with no advert reactions but recently, when she puts it on her face (she uses it on her face because her skin is dry) she says her skin gets really red and blotchy for a few hours. The...

Hi guys! I am trying to find the best plastic type for cream/shea whip/lipbalm/liquid soap containers. I know glass would be the best option but unfortunately it would add up quite a lot to shipping costs... There are many information sources out there and I've come across quite a few...

    CP vs. HP

It's obvious that we all have personal preferences when it comes to how we make our soap :) Some make mostly HP while other prefer CP. But why is this so? Why do you prefer CP or HP? I tend to make mostly HP. In my experience I had 3 batches that developed DOS and they were all CP, never...

    Face serum

I recently tried my hand at a face serum. I've had problems with my skin for a few years now due to changes in my diet, putting on and losing weight, allergic reactions to dust (there's a building site right next to where I live) ... and so I thought a face serum is a good idea. I used clay...

    Silk and vegetarianism

I know silk is such a great ingredient to use in shampoos, conditioners, soaps and all for the great qualitites it brings to the products. But, do your vegetarian/vegan customers ever steer away from products that contain silk? Some view wearing silk just as wearing fur coats. Are there any...

    Argan oil

First of all "Happy New Year!!!!!" :D Have a wonderful 2011!!! I ordered some Argan oil and am wondering how to use it to make the best of it. It's kind of expensive to use in soap so I am inclining towards leave on products to benefit the most from it. Am I on the right track? How do you...
