Okay, so I don't want to look too new at this, but I think I am about to. Well, you don't know if you don't ask, right? I found these on amazon. Are these okay to use in say....lipbalm? Christmas soaps? If I bought it like this, would it be considered an FO or and EO? I told you I was about to look like a noob...Better to ask than wonder forever, right? ;)

before you purchase, I'd try to contact the company, and find out if they are an essential oil, an extract, a flavoring, or a fragrance oil, then see what they are approved for. they should have that information on hand and be able to give it to you.

Go to the company's website. LorAnn oils provides some excellent soap making/toiletry making supplies. Google them and they'll have more info on their website. Peppermint oil can be a skin irritant so you have to be careful when using it (just don't use too much). I think that it's an EO. Here's LorAnn's actual website: https://www.lorannoils.com/

Okay....so I have looked things up, and if I am not mistaken, then food grade oils are fine to use in lipbalm? How do I know if it is a skin irritant? I don't see that on their site. Here is the thing. Amazon has these oils for 55% off of the price listed.

Scroll down, you will see them. Is that something I can use? They also have Cream de Coco coconut canned stuff and things like grapeseed oil and hazelnut oil. Seems like a good deal, but I don't want to buy things that are not okay. I feel a little overwhelmed by all of this oil and fragrance stuff. Sorry for being a pest.....

thanks for any help,

I'm not a big fan of grapeseed or nut oils in soap, but they make an excellent lip balm and are great in lotions. That's just a personal opinion though, everything in soapmaking is up to the individual.

Thanks for the info! I am soaking all of this stuff up like a sponge :)

This forum is so great for tips and information. Thank you all for your help!
