Mint EO vs Mint FO

I've always used mint EOs (peppermint and spearmint) and I've never tried a straight mint FO. Mint EOs are now significantly more expensive than FOs, so I'm looking for a good mint EO.

Hello Dixiedragon! I generally stick with the EO's for the mints. I used to try FO's but they (from various companies) seemed to dissipate after a short few months. And even then the remaining light scent was "chemically". I use the EO's from New Directions (pricey) but I also add to them a small percentage of a "Sinus EO/FO blend" and "Rainforest EO/FO blend" both from Wholesale Supplies Plus. Doing this greatly helps anchor the mint EO's and also helps to amplify the mint scent without the worry about skin sensitivity. I have a few bars made two years ago (stored well) and still smells minty-fresh. (Sounds like a toothpaste ad) :smile:

I happen to like NDA's Japanese peppermint and it is cheap for peppermint. 33.3 oz for $31.83. It reminds me of peppermint candy, and is delicious mixed with spearmint and /or wintergreen
