This was the first time I've added agave. I've had it in the cabinet for quite awhile and it was a spur of the moment addition. I didn't realize it would turn the lye solution such a dark brown and I only added 12 grams. However, I think it really did help with the fluidity. Normally, I use sodium lactate but I forgot to order more.

The tempered GM immediately turned orange when I added in today's batch. But the discoloration isn't as dark as yesterday's agave batch. So from my experience, I'm going to say GM discolors in HP. Not a big deal, IMO, since I'd just use FOs which turn dark brown.

Right. But only in soap.

One of the puppies threw up earlier - brown and nasty (coprophagia). Of course, she missed the linoleum and all of it went onto the carpet. Three guesses on who got hollered at to clean it up. And no, it wasn't Rumpelstiltskin.
