I did my first ever batch of soap yesterday. I did the crock pot method, and now I am second guessing myself all over the place. I did the tongue test and did not get zapped, but would a person know if their soap had too high of pH? Does HP soap continue to neutralize while it's curing?

The nature of a true soap is to have a high pH, whether its handmade or store bought. One of the most important parts of curing (and hot process soap also needs a cure) is that pH does lower somewhat as the saponification process finishes.

Congratulation on your very first batch!!!
