Just wondering if anyone has tried making it and if they had any perceived benefits.

Yes, I make a charcoal soap.
My teenage son has oily skin, used to be quite acneic, but he has been using charcoal soap for around 18 months, it's helped him immensely.

I make a fantastic charcoal soap (halloween soap, actually). I'm not so sure about the benefits but I've heard charcoal is good for the skin.

i have been thinking about using charcoal for some time now, purely as a colourant. I thought men might like a black coloured soap.
I have recently made a guinness shampoo soap and I thought i might colour the next one black.
People's comments here about charcoal being good for oily skin got me thinking, would it also be good for greasy hair when used in a shampoo?

perhaps a dumb question, but I have never used charcoal for any reason and I wouldn't have a clue how to use it nor where to get it.

(in general, I mean. Like a grocery store? vs. pharmacy vs. store that sells pool chemicals etc. General category please, no Walmarts or Whole Foods in Europe

What form does it come in? powder? chunks? grains?

I found activated charcoal at my local pharmacy. It's used for upset tummies.

It's a powder. It also comes in tabs.
