i just wondered what it does for the soap? make more lather, smell? color?

I believe it boosts lather and is also a humectant, but I'm not sure how much of that quality lasts after it's gone through saponification...

And I hear it heats up a batch good! ;)

I love honey. It adds a really nice feel to the lather, and it doesn't provide any smell. It also almost guarantees a gel if you use enough. I use it in almost every batch now!

I use a lot of honey .I think it adds to the lather , it can add to the color , it is a good humectant , the scent of the honey seems to come through in some soap recipes. I bought some acacia honey , I can't wait to try that , I have my eye on some raspberry honey too.( I can't stand the taste of honey but for soaping it rocks).

I use honey at 1 tbsp ppo and I can definitely detect a wonderful bubbly difference in my lather. I've found that it also imparts a lovely, natural scent in my soap that is not unlike the scent of those chewy Bit O' Honey candies, or peanut brittle.
