You only need more power if you are making large batches, and then a fancy long shaft SS one is in order! Get too much power and you could wind up with air bubbles in your soap!!

The biggest batches I've ever done with it at a time are 5 lbs, but my usual size batch is 2.5 lbs. It has served me well for over 5 years now and still going strong. IrishLass
