Just wondering how much scent to put in soy melts. One company said 30 -45g of scent per 500g of wax. I know it depends on strength etc. but need a bit of a guideline please.

Also can I melt it in the microwave ? One place said to pour at 70 degrees.

Thanks Relle.

Hey Relle evidently you can microwave it but I just cannot for the life of me do it LOL I had double boiler melted paraffin for years and now do my soy the same way. Depending on what wax your using on how much fragrance it will hold...........I use Ecosoya and fragrance at 10% with no issues :0)

Thanks for the tips Lyn, I bought Ecosoya and just did a test with 125g wax and 10 ml of scent. This scent is hydrangea and boy does it knock your head off.

The only wax I could get years ago was paraffin or paraffin lol, so no choice really and can't remember what I use to melt it in. Anyway I couldn't wait, you know how it is, did try the micro and so quick and easy, give it a try.

Relle.

For EcoSoy, you typically add about 5% FO/EO
You can play with the percentage a bit, as some smell stronger than others.

You're supposed to melt it at 155°F, mix at 125°F and pour at 120°F.

For the temps are we talking centigrade or farenheit ?

I'll know next time to put in less FO or EO, and save myself some money.

Thanks
Relle.
