I did this batch of salt bars today. My recipe was
80% coconut oil
15% Olive Oil
5% Castor Oil
15% SF
used 1/2 water, 1/2 coconut milk as liquid
40% salt per # of oil

I cut this at about 3 hours and was real happy about how it cut, looks, and smells except for the spots a a few bars. They are solid and look clear. I licked them and didn't get zapped, it just tasted salty. Could they be salt pockets?

Very interesting, Judiraz. I tend to agree they're probably salt clumps since they don't zap. Did your batter move really fast when you added the salt and/or FO?

I love your pink and your cuts are nice and smooth. I can't cut a pretty salt bar to save my life so, well done you! (PS - beautiful kids in the background!)

Thanks for noticing my kids....they are 44 & 37 now. Old picture!

Yes, this batch moved quickly. I didn't have a chance to do the swirl I planned, but that was probably due to the citrus FOS I used.

You know, it was amazing to me that I didn't get a zap just 3-4 hours after I poured.
