question about lip balm colors

what type of dyes do you recomend for lip balms? can I use powdered? and if so do I have to mix with an oil first and then add?

I use POP micas from TKB

Just make sure whatever colorant you use is approved for lip applications. Many micas are lipsafe. You should be able to mix them straight in. You could add them to oil frist if you like.

I bought some "lakes" and feel you have to use quite a bit just to tint it. Hope this helps in what not to buy.
