Posts disappearing?

Since I've joined this lovely forum, I've had 3 of my responses to threads completely disappear off the face of the earth...

I've never seen that happen before in a forum, is this a common problem here? I'd hate to think the mods are deleting them, but I do find it very strange.

One was a response suggesting websites on this thread: http://www.soapmakingforum.com/showthread.php?p=628903

I forget what the other one was, but I responded again on it with "Where the heck did my post go!?" and that post also disappeared.

I never said anything offensive, so I'm left scratching my head.

edit: I found the other one where my 2 posts disappeared: http://www.soapmakingforum.com/showthread.php?t=62056&highlight=toxicon As you can see, susiefreckleface mentions my username there, but my post above hers is gone...

edit2: SOLVED! I didn't realize the Business subforum had its own set of rules. TIL!

If you posted before the 3 month / 50 post threshold in the Business Form then the moderators will remove it. Ask me how I know. Personally, I think this should only apply to posting and not replying, but it's their rules.

Ohhhh that makes much more sense to me. The posts that went missing were all in the Business Forum. I didn't even think of that, since I've been running my own home businesses for over 10 years...

I just went in and looked. Your posts were deleted due to rules violations.

Rules for posting in the Business section:
1) SMF encourages active membership and requires a minimum of (50) posts & (3) months membership before posting.
2) Only one link per member per post , others will be deleted.
3) All attempts to post inquiries relating to business matters outside of the Business section in order to skirt the above stated rules and requirements will be deleted. These rules may seem to be overly strict, but is for the protection of our board and membership, and no exceptions will be made.

I just went in and looked. Your posts were deleted due to rules violations.

I see that now! I didn't realize the Business subforum had its own set of rules. Didn't even think to check!

Other subforums do, too. I try to keep them in mind, but usually look at the forum sorted by new posts and have messed up a time or two here. SORRY MODS!!! It's not intentional, I promise! :silent:

Same here, I mainly just check out the "Newest Threads" on the right side of the forum, not clicking into the actual subforums with their stickies and such.

If you look at the top after clicking on it it will tell you where you are.
