Thanks for sharing @Zing . It is played on local stations here in Virginia in Christmas mixes, but had no idea it was so popular in NZ.

Well, that took me back! I remember when this song was new - my dad loved it. I was in junior high and hearing this made me think of skating with friends at the ice rink in my coolest-ever stocking cap with a super long tail

I learned this song a number of years back when my dad pulled out an old cassette tape and played it for my siblings and I. We all think it's great And I do occasionally hear it in radio Christmas mixes as well.

Hmm. I can't say that I hear this every year, but certainly often enough to be surprised that it's considered obscure. But I listen to a lot of Christmas music, and even enjoy ones like "I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" and "The Twelve Pains of Christmas".

This song is the great divider of people. Not unlike Patchouli. It gets thrashed over here so much that many people are sick of it. Nonetheless, it was played at our family Christmas party yesterday at my sister-in-law's request, despite my sister, the host, despising it.

According to Wikipedia, the song peaked at #2 on the Hot 100 during the week of December 31, 1966 (behind the Monkees' "I'm a Believer"). I was gifted the Monkees‘ album for Christmas that year. The pre-teen me was probably too cool for Snoopy

I sang the Snoopy Versus the Red Baron song that was popular on the radio here at the time. I love the Christmas version, which appears to be inspired by the real World War I 1914 truce. I’ll have to get this version onto my iPad so I can play it on the Autoharp with friends. Thanks, @Zing!
