So, I attempted my first swirled soap in a slab mold. The design came out BEAUTIFULLY. But it's very oily! I've never had this happen before. I'm worried because I only emulsified it, but didn't bring it to a full trace. On the other hand, there is no zap.

What do you think the chance is that it might dry out?

If the oiliness is not excessive (i.e. huge leaking puddles everywhere), chances are very good it will reabsorb and all will be well.

IrishLass :)

I have several recipes I use that ALWAYS yield a slippery oily log-o-soap. It usually re-absorbs for me - the liquid is usually a little bit of glycerin or FO but not enough to affect the performance of the soap. Just be careful cutting since it will be easy to drop the bars once cut!!!!
