I made my first soap yesterday and just finished cutting it. I was hoping it would all be green, but the outside layer is brown. I tried to infuse my castor oil with fresh grated ginger, unfortunately, the ginger fragrance didn't really come through.

Any chance soap gets more fragrant as it dries?

I used:
24 oz. canola
12 oz. olive
12 oz. coconut

at trace
2 oz. ginger infused castor oil
1.5 oz. shea butter
3 tsp. dried lemon peel
2 tsp. green tea powder
1tsp kelp powder

Its very pretty! You did good!

I have never had much luck using herbs for fragrance, they seem to work better for color, interest and texture.
