Has anyone used raw manuka honey in their soap and knows if any of the medical benifits would come though? I am wondering if it could be used as an acne soap.
If it were me, I would save the raw Manuca honey for internal ingestion or for applying directly to skin in its natural, unprocessed form. Too many chemical changes go on during saponification that it is highly doubtful that any of Manuka's wonderful healing benefits would survive the lye monster unscathed. About the only benefits I can see being left behind in the soap would be the extra-bubbliness of the lather, and a soft, sweet honey scent similar to those Bit 'O Honey candies.
