here's another one I did this afternoon I scented it with baby powder fragrance

Great one !

it was piped straight from the pot
How did you do that without burning yourself ? The usual gloves aren't great insulators.

Amazing. I agree with Fragola - how did you do that without melting the piping bag and burning yourself? Did you use a cloth piping bag?

I started using a silicone piping bag, but I found it was too soft once the soap started to cool. I found a pool chemicals tub and cut a hole in the top and glued the piping tip into the lid. I used this and wore gloves and so yes it was hot but not too bad. I'll post photo's once I've cleaned it up. My hands are really sore from the effort of squeezing the tub, so I will be looking for a more suitable sort of bottle or tub if I want to carry on doing this, or I might just leave it altoghether and do piping with the cp. I tried this method because I wanted to be able to give some soaps for christmas presents.

Fascinating. I wonder if a cookie dough extruder has enough ooomph to push out soap batter as you need.

Look at this electric one: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Deni-Battery-Operated-Cookie-Maker-with-Decorating-Tips/9720652

Don't laugh. This thing can handle some really thick materials. You can give everything to your kids but keep the extruder to make shapes that you can slice and drop into soap molds.

I rebatched a cp soap that had gelled and totally lost it's fragrance. This batch had a lot more water than I had been using previously. I didn't add any more water when I put it in my slow cooker, because when I was grating it, it seemed to be very wet. I only used the warm setting. This batch did not get hugely hot, and it stayed soft enough to be able to pipe a lot easier than my previous efforts. I added cocoa powder and chocolate frangrance oil.
