How do I go about making a lotion base thicker?

I would like to make a purchased lotion base thicker. Can I use Ewax? How do i go about measuring the amount to add? Do I have to add extra preservative? How do I go about figuring the correct amount of that?

I have never heard of anyone doing that before. No you would not use e-wax to thicken, I use stearic acid to thicken mine. You would have to heat your lotion base warm enough to melt the stearic acid which would render several preservatives useless. Everything that comes in contact with your lotion should be sanitized as well. I guess depending on how much you have left I would just buy a thicker base rather than go thru the hassle.
