Thanks for sharing the blog and recipe!

When I read it I was wondering if cocoa butter could replace shea (I don't like it) or mango (have none). Then I saw you had replaced with cocoa and it worked for you.

I wonder what cetyl alcohol does and how important it is.

Check out Susan's post on cetyl alcohol here:

My understanding is it adds slip and glide and a bit of thickening. I've been pouring over her blog and for other recipes, she notes that it provides an oil-free way to moisturize, and as a co-emulsifier. I'm not brave enough yet to try deviating too much from the recipes. It's actually pretty cheap and at such a tiny amount (a 200g recipe uses 6g, very tiny!), I would get it if you can.

Oh, I made the lotion again today, but added peppermint EO (prefer unscented but others in my home will like the peppermint) and then used an almost identical recipe from her blog (can't find it now, same ingredients but different amounts) for body butter that also turned out perfect using cocoa butter, and grapeseed oil.
