Extra gram of lye

I was making a batch of soap yesterday. 2.5 pound batch. I added one extra gram of lye on accident and was wondering if I have anything to worry about? Thanks if anyone can help me out!

If your recipe includes a superfat, I should think one gram of lye isn't going to make it unsafe, a gram is a very small percentage of your batch.

I'd suggest a zap test after curing it for a while, to be on the safe side though.

Yeah, no worries. I often have a gram or two more. It may alter the SF a bit but I often have a gram or more of oils, too. I wouldn't worry about a gram here or there when it comes to soap.

Just run the actual numbers through your lye calculator and you can find out what your true SuperFat is now. If you can't figure out how to do that, please ask; I'll be happy to help.
