Does oil selection affect scent retention?

Does the selection of base soap oils affect the scent retention of the bar?

For example, is it possible that coconut oil retains scent better than palm or olive retains scent better than coconut?? Etc.
 
I’ve not found that to be a factor. It’s generally the fragrance itself. Some stick some don’t. If something doesn’t stick around at least 6 months I don’t use it again in soap. I scent at 6% mostly. Salt soap take more die to the salt. Those I’ve gone to 7-7.5%.

I agree with shunt2011 on this one. It can be difficult to find a good FO that sticks around and doesn't cause any problems when mixing or discoloring afterwards.
