So, A friend of mine and I bought a hog from a local farmer and we pick it up from the butcher tomorrow.
My family is so excited about bacon and pork chops and pork loin.

...

I just can't wait to get my hands on the fat so I can render it and make soap.

For a whole week since we called the farmer that's all I have thought about.

LOL everyone thinks I'm weird b/c every time I hear someone talking about hunting and shooting a deer, I ask if they have any fat they want to get rid of.

You could try calling a butcher during deer season. Depending on the state/municipality it is illegal to sell deer meat, you are only allowed to sell the service of butchering it. I don't know that deer have a lot of fat since they get so much exercise and have proper diets. I do see a market for deer soap though!
