    Blended pomace?

Gosh, that's a massive difference! I'm not going to waste my time using it in soap

    Blended pomace?

Thank you for such a detailed reply. I'll look at the label tomorrow (midnight right now and I should be sleeping)

    Blended pomace?

I'm not sure if the pomace we get here is anything similar to what I see referred to as pomace. The pomace here states it's 51% olive oil and 48% sunflower oil Is it possible/desirable to use this pomace as olive oil in soapmaking? I'm guessing I'd need to recalculate the recipes? Thanks

    ZNSC with honey

Tbh, the lye was tricky. After 3 days and five shops I decided to place an order online. Literally two hours later, I found lye in a middle Eastern grocer's...for a quarter of the price of the online one! But it was too late to cancel the order! I still bought the one at the grocer's though!

ZNSC honey- does this seem ok?

Oh no 😬😬😬 I've just re-run the soap calculator with the change in oils and unsurprisingly the lye)water numbers are slightly different than if I'd used 100% pomace! The difference isn't massive though. Do you think it'll be ok?

ZNSC honey- does this seem ok?

Thank you. No scents at all. Just the honey which I blended in with the oils. I had to change to 75% EVOO, 25% coconut oil, 5% castor oil.

    ZNSC with honey

We're petsitting for a wonderful couple who happen to keep honey bees. I didn't realise they kept bees or would enjoy homemade soap so I never thought to bring my soapmaking things. Anyway, thanks to the very helpful people on here recommending Zany's No Slime Castile, after looking around...

ZNSC honey- does this seem ok?

I really don't know why I feel I need to double check my numbers but does this seem right? Thanks

    No stick blender

Loads and loads of pomace around here!

    No stick blender

Thank you so much for your help

    No stick blender

Thank you. The plan is either trifecta soap or Zany's No Slime Castile. Both with a teaspoon of honey as my host keeps bees

    No stick blender

As I mentioned before, I'm away from home and would like to make soap for my host. I was planning to make Zany's No Slime. I don't have access to a stick blender though. Is it realistic to attempt it stirring by hand? Thanks

Simple lard free and palm free?

Olive coconut sunflower trex rice bran oil Thank you. I'm a bit nervous about that one although I'm not sure why!

Simple lard free and palm free?

I'm away on vacation looking after someone's house who would very much love some homemade soap. I didn't realise this beforehand so I haven't got any of my oils with me. Is there a simple recipe that doesn't use lard or palm oil that I could make for her? Thank you for any suggestions

    Palmolive soap scent?

We're in the UK and my husband has asked me to make some soap that smells like the commercial Palmolive soap as it reminds him of his grandma... Has anyone ever come across that fragrance in terms of soapmaking pls? thanks

    Infusing oils

I've of often wondered about herb properties surviving saponification. I tend to save my infused oils for non-soap things

What soapy thing have you done today?

Making my first acv shampoo bars! Trying fluid hot process. Probably should have picked an easier recipe when trying a new method 🙄

What soapy thing have you done today?

My reusable liner 😊. Made from a plastic placemat and duct tape. (Please ignore the awful soap)

What soapy thing have you done today?

Well, today I made some *ahem* landscape soap...ahem, bc it went terribly, terribly off course and probably the theme should now be "The End of Times" soap. On a positive note, my homemade mould and reusable liners performed brilliantly!
