I have had the best success with madder root by adding it to plain, full fat yogurt, and then adding after the cook.

I only use Sodium Lactate when I do Hot Process soaps that I want to be more fluid. For that, I add it after the cook, along with the FO/EO, yogurt, clay and anything else I want to include. I don't use it in CP.

Lavender essential oil is the only one that really gets to me. I love the fragrance, but after soaping with it, I feel terribly out of sorts for a couple of days. My dog sleeps a lot when I use it, though. :)

Thanks for the info. It only happens with the Nitrile gloves. Not latex or vinyl. Not a big deal, though.

Mine have always been solid at room temperature (generally about 60 to 75 degrees F). I melt it by setting the jug in a sink with hot tap water. The babassu from Soaper's Choice stayed liquid for about a day and a half, but the babassu from Amazon became too solid to pour within a few hours.

My favorite is an EO blend of Rose Geranium, Bergamot, and Palmarosa in equal amounts.

Thank you, Dahila. Where do you buy Babassu, or do you think that makes any difference. Just wondering because my recipe has worked great until I used the babassu from Soaper's Choice. All other ingredients were from the same source as previous batches. Maybe I don't need so much cetyl alcohol.
