My kiddos needed extra attention this afternoon so I sadly didn't get around to making my curry. We had fancy quesadillas instead, and they were good. I'll have to make my planned meal this weekend instead.

I have a friend who has carbon steel. She hates it. I would love another opinion if anyone else has used it.
Grilled ono with a lemon/ white wine/butter/dill sauce, salad and fresh pineapple. I am blessed to be in paradise for a short while.
Oh what is it that she hates about it?
Food sticks. I don’t know if she seasoned it properly, so that’s why I would like to know others’ experience. She does have some cast iron though, and doesn’t seem to have any problems with that other than the weight.
Hmm is she cooking in too high heat? It isn’t as thick as cast iron

Had no clue, never heard of it, the sauce sounded so nice.

check out the terrific carbon steel pans from “Smithy”. They are expensive but are a step above all the rest. I use cast iron, almost exclusively, but will put my Smithy skillet up against any other carbon steel brand. Maybe your friend has not really learned how to season/use it. Really wish I had a roast in the freezer, tucked somewhere in between my lovely prawns, because this sounds AMAZING....instant hunger pangs when I read this
So now I have organic local roasts to hunt down this year so that next winter I am swimming in roast beef dinners

Really?? Why? I have been thinking of trying some carbon steel cookware out to replace one of my small pots that has bit the biscuit. Would love to hear what problems people are experiencing with it.
