Using garlic extract for soap?

Hello, I've been looking up answers on this topic for a while, but I had difficulties finding them, so I wanted to ask here. My brother is doing a school project in which he has to make a product, and his idea was to make an antibacterial/antifungal soap based on garlic extract. He wanted to know if his idea is a plausible homemade product, and if it is, is there a way to remove or minimize the stench of garlic from it?

If garlic extract is going to be used in soap, I would think it would be better to either use in in M&P soap or HP soap. If used in HP soap, I would add stir it into the soap right before pouring soap into the mold.
