i came across this really strange swirl today. with the black and white it almost looks like an xray!

wondering how this kind of swirl is done. the white is gradiated from the center and its crackly on the edges... ive not seen this before!

any thoughts?

Stunning soaps!

From the ingredients list, it looks like it's MP. The clues that give it away to me that it's MP are sorbitol, glycerin and sorbitan oleate. If you look at the ingredient list on Brambleberry's Olive Oil MP base (link below), they are pretty much identical to the ingredients listed for the soap in the picture (apart from the additives like charcoal):

Thee's another cool looking soap on that same page as the black soap:

Very creative!

really really cool! nice sleuthing there irishlass :)

is the fact that is is mp an indication of how the swirl happened? like, are swirls different between mp and cp?

could it be a swirling artifact from maybe a clear glycerine mp (looks like the black might be that) and the shea butter mp (the white) mixing together?

thanks for sharing that! it looks like a swirling artifact from clear glycerine soap combined with an opaque soap. really neat!
