First off... Good Job! :) Looks like you got overheated. I find the little bubbles and what you've got on top there, happens when it gets too hot going through gel :) :)

Sans Soda Ash On Textured Tops??? Help Please....:(

Sometime I use the alcohol, if I remember but usually I don't bother because it doesn't always work. Even some of the most widely known soapers have ash. When I was a newbie soaper I thought it was the end of the world getting ash and would trim and rebatch if it happened.... Not anymore...

Coffee Soap and gel vs non-gel

Gorgeous Soap ... Love Dark Soaps, they are so dramatic!! Good Job BTW!! Triple Strength coffee might have caused the really dark. I usually only make mine double strength. Plus the Cocoa also would've made it really dark too. But that is one Gorgeous Soap!! Well Done!!

Silly question about dusting with mica...

You can dust on after it's done it's thing in the mold with a makeup brush or you can dust on with a little container and old panty hose stretched over the top while it's still wet.

    Spraying Alcohol

I'm new here too but I thought I saw somewhere on here that it was Isopropyl Alcohol that was used..... thats what I use, Maybe I'm doing it wrong. It works for some of my soaps but not all..... don't know why. I had one with a lot of Cocoa and the top still got ash

    Spraying Alcohol

Oh sorry, maybe I just call it rubbing alcohol.... But it's the Isopropyl Alcohol your talking about? If so, you can get it anywhere

It's the first Sat. of Oct. Whatcha soapin'?

I just made French Pink Clay with Mango and Cocoa Butters, it's so creamy and such a pretty color, unscented. They are a bit short for what I like, I will adjust the amount of oils for that loaf mold for next time
