I have had a few batches of soap curing for about 3 weeks. I have noticed that on the soap in some spots, a white film has developed. Can anyone tell me what that is???

Sounds like ash. If you do a search on "ash AND soap" in the forum you will find a zillion posts on pesky ash along with ideas and theories on how to prevent and remedies for what to do once you have it.

I agree it is likly ash. If this is heavy on the top of your soap try putting a piece of plastic wrap on it right after pouring into your mold.

Yep, ash. It's not harmful at all, just doesn't look too great. It happens when oxygen meets the soap, so if you cover the top with plastic wrap, you can avoid it.
