I am having my husband build me a soap mold. First timer here. I already have the dimensions I want and all BUT my main issue is weather I want collapsible sides or not.. He's making it out of cheap scraps from Menards that I think are pine. I know to collapse or not to collapse is a personal opinion but I want to hear pros and cons of both. I started thinking to collapse and bought hinges and such and now I'm thinking not to collapse. He is also going to put in a cutting slit in the sides as well. Anyways! Thank you for your time!:D

My mold collapse, and I love them. I find it is easier to line them (I use the method from great cakes soapworks tutorial) and Removing the soap from the mold is a snap. Some people don't like it because there are usually teeny gaps where the hinges are, but in my opinion, if you are lining your molds anyway, that's not really such a concern.
