Hey y’all, I’ve heard that stainless steel container are not the best for mix soap batter in , Why is this so? Does it cause a reaction to the pot or soap?

^^what @Kamahido said.

I use stainless containers all the time for measuring lye solution, mixing batter, and cooking my HP batches. Works great, and much easier to clean than the plastic containers. I do use good quality stainless, not the cheap stainless-coated stuff, like most of what you will find at the Dollar Store that is marketed as "stainless steel." All it takes is a dent or a knick in the cheap stuff, and now your soap is exposed to reactive metals.

I've been soaping in the same stainless steel pots and bowls that I started out with 15 years ago without a problem. As AliOop said, make sure it's quality stainless steel and not the cheap stuff.
