Your hearts should stay pink. I have used vanilla in swirls and the non-vanilla portions of the swirls does not discolor.

I love your brown sugar & fig. Did the base discolor that quickly or did you color it? I made some a couple of months ago
and I am just now noticing a discoloration. Anyway I love the color combination!
