I love the Pull through technique! There's a different surprise waiting inside every time 
And you don't need 'specialty' tools to get started. My first one was done using a piece of plastic from the side of an old basket that was being thrown out.

I've sort of assumed the fact that there isn't one is the reason almost identical batches can turn out different/weird. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it.To self: way to jump back in with both feet!
Is there a patron soap of soap making?
So, in the future, if I want a full column, and I’m using more than my usual 4 colors, then I have to increase my recipes volume. I’ll be a bar or two shorter than usual.
Batter thickened up a bit with the time it took to do 8 colors. Hopefully I still get most colors in each bar. I’ve noticed with thick batter that it doesn’t “pull through” as much. But it’s less likely to blend together too much also, so that’s good. We shall see...
