I love it!!

And yes, it is so satisfying! Every time I render lard or tallow, my husband asks me, "How much would that have cost to buy it at the store?" The last time I looked, our local restaurant supply did not have tallow at all, and their lard had gone from $48 for a 50lb cube, to $109 for the same cube. YIKES.
Also, my chickens loved the cracklins, which I kept in a bag in the fridge. I would warm up a bowl to take out to them in the mornings. They pecked it all right up, and then wiped their beaks on the grass to get rid of the grease. Hilarious!
EDIT: how did you like using the roaster pan instead of inside on the stove?
