I have not used cornmeal of any color in soap, but once the lye hits the organic material, it changes. Although you can get blue cornbread using blue cornmeal (according to recipes I see online), lye is a completely different story when it comes to chemical reactions.

I suggest you try this:

Mix up a very small amount of lye solution and add blue cornmeal to the lye solution and see if the color blue remains in solution after it has sat for a few hours. Cover the container of course. That should give you a clue as to weather it will remain blue in the presence of lye.
