I want to start my new project of making Shaving Soap. I have read a lot, and I found a recipe to start with:

20% StearicAcid;
20% OliveOil;
20% CastorOil;
20%Sheabutter;
8% Babassu Oil;
7% Sweet Almond Oil

Superfat 8%

I have a few questions :
- The addition of stearic acid -> Whats the maximum doses of stearic acid?
I noticed that the stearic had to be between the 20 - 25.
- The addition of glycerin -> is it 10 % of the total of oil/fat/butter?

I hope you could give me a feedback of this recipe, and I'll found the answers.

Thanks a lot.

Nice! The only thing I would do would be to add Bentonite clay for slip :smile:

Drop the olive oil, increase your Stearic Acid by at least 10% add Coconut oil at 5% and play with the rest of the numbers. Oh yeah and add some glycerin and Kaolin (it's better than the Bentonite for shaving) at about 2%.

Thanks, for the information... I increase the Stearic Acid and I drop the Olive Oil. My next recipe:

I'll start with this recipe, when I get my Stearic Acid... (100 gram oil/fat/butter)
