I would suggest my recent soap recipe (my first bath soap, actually)
80% lard
15% CO
5% OO
3% SF
2.5 r Na4EDTA ppo.
Shea butter, cocoa butter, large amounts of olive oil, and beeswax will ALL leave something on the skin. I made some soap for my mother (5% each Shea and Cocoa butter with half as superfat) because she has fairly sensitive dry skin, but it feels like grease to me. Nice in shaving soap since I'm scraping a razor over my face, but not as bath soap.
Simple recipe, low conditioning, 3% super fat and he will be happy. If his skin is like mine, the very last thing I want is any residual "conditioning" -- I have plenty of skin oil for three people already, and more makes me break out.
You won't like that soap at all, quite likely, but that's how skin works, eh?
