Are there some ingredients or conditions that make a soap more likely to develop lye ash?

There are so many different opinions on this! IMO - it's less about the ingredients and more about the environment. I have a soaping buddy who lives about 30-45 minutes from me. We both use similar recipes (high percentage of lard), many of the same FOs (we share orders) and we both use the same city water. But she has lots more ash than I do. The difference...I have a dehumidifier.
Some soapers swear that gelling decreases ash. Some cover the soap with saran wrap. Some spray with alcohol. Some let the ash form, then wash, cut or even steam it off.
