Hello everyone, I am wondering if someone could tell me which is the better out of the two.

I know that liquid dye/pigment for soaps would probably mix a lot better, but I haven't had experience with powder/mica to say if its true or not.

so i wanted to know which one would you prefer and why you think it would be better.

also could you use icing colorant such as wilton to mix color into soap?

Thanks!!

Icing colors are probably not stable enough to use in CP soap. They will morph. I use both powdered and liquid colorants. I mix oxides in a little oil taken from the recipe so that there will be no clumping when added to the other ingredients. Micas can be mixed with a little glycerin before adding to the soap.

Thank you so much Isg that really helps me out a lot! I was always wondering which would be better in price range as well as clumping factor, thinking that liquid would go a long way opposed to mica, but then mica also has glitter in it too so its a must have.

you put things in perspective :D

In my experience the glitter in micas does not carry through in cold process.
