Is this lye okay?

I saw that my local menards has lye drain cleaner. It says 100% lye crystals. Is that what I can use for lye? Is there a difference between that lye and what I can buy on the soap supply websites?

Its the same thing, as long as its 100% lye (sodium hydroxide) you can use it for soap.

I always rinse it and let it air dry afterwards. Just wear gloves!

When you say "put lye first" you mean measure your lye in the container, pour this lye into your distilled water, then wash your measuring cup? Just want to be sure that's what you meant and NOT put your lye in the container first then pour your distilled water in it.

Yes, lye goes into the water, not the other way around. Think snow on the lake.
