So I'm making soap today and for the first time ever, my lye solution is REALLY cloudy. I'm using hardware store-bought 100% lye, but I've used lye from this container before and never had this problem. Possible factors:
1) I'm using old salt water that I mixed a while ago and left in the fridge.
2) I didn't wash the container thoroughly enough, and there might be traces of other stuff in there?
3) I dissolved 1.5 tsp sugar in the water before adding the lye - possible it's not all the way dissolved?
How big of a problem is this? Can I still use it? I'm pretty confident all the lye is dissolved, and I don't actually see "gunks" of anything, just bubbles on top and the solution is very cloudy. (I've searched on the forums and it looks like this isn't too concerning, but just wanted to check!)
