Welcome @Velocipede !! IMHO this forum is extremely helpful. When needing help it is recommended that you post the recipe giving you trouble.
Flawless soap making seems to require diligence, caution, lots of practice, and knowledge about what makes a good soap. There are soapmakers on this forum who make flawless soap. I’ll let them respond. They are wonderful and helpful.

Apologies am certain I missed many excellent soap makers!
