There is a Dove commercial airing on pretty much every channel I have watched today that is trying to slam soap. Apparently, soap leaves an evil soap scum film on your skin and the detergents in Dove do not.

Funny, soap is kinder to my skin than Dove. Especially home made soap, naturally.

I found some Dove soap in the cupboard recently and so decided to use it on my hands to use it up and to remind me what was so good about it. It lasted about 3 days before I binned it. Made me itchy and dry. I'd rather wash my hands in pigeon poop.

i always think that it is not a film of "scum" on skin that has used soap, it is the natural state of skin that has moisture and the things your skin needs to be healthy. Dove has just stripped all the good stuff right off your skin and is promoting that like it is a good thing.

It's interesting that a few people here have reacted badly to Dove.Dove is so nasty to my skin, hence why that commercial makes me laugh. Actually, most everyone I know that has used it has developed a rash or something.

I'm playing with my new calendula batch and just snickering at the marketing. I wonder how many people are going to actually fall for this? Probably a lot, unfortunately.

I find it amusing that there's all these "skin cleaning products" that happily say 'Soap Free'. Makes me wonder if it has no soap in it then what nasty chemicals are in there to make your skin clean!? I definately prefer using CP soap on my skin rather than Dove

Soap leave a soap scum, Dove doesn't. They just admitted they are not soap.

I hope one day they make a sheep poop soap as I am up to my ears in it here and would be a millionaire in no time. :D
This Dove crowd are just like every other manufacturer trying to sell you there rubbish by preaching false truths about the natural alternatives, you can sell ice to Eskimo's if your advertising is good. :D
